Chatswood

The brief of this project was to take this older brick veneer home in Chatswood and transform it by renovating and adding a large extension that offered more space for the family to spread across. As a result, we extended the house, adding more rooms and redesigning the floorplan to achieve a more open-plan design.

We strategically introduced the extension to the back of the home. This allowed us to establish connected open living, with the new living room, dining room and open plan kitchen with an island bench all in one vicinity to emphasise a seamless transition between rooms.

Tailoring the floorplan, we relocated the kitchen from the centre of the home to move into the new rear extension. In replacement of the original location, we added another bedroom, complete with an ensuite.

Boasting high ceilings, the extension provides a large airy feel, highlighted by high windows and stacker doors to enhance the natural lighting and bring in the greenery from the outside.

The clients were thrilled with the final results. To complement the finished build, they plan to accentuate the outdoor space by adding a translucent pergola roof to make the yard more user-friendly whilst keeping the light streaming in. The owners will complete this at a later date.
